About Coach Winegarden
25 years in the arena. Every lesson earned.
I have served as an Assistant Coach, Head Coach, Director of Leadership, and Athletic Director across more than two decades of high school athletics. I have built programs from scratch, led through adversity, developed player-led cultures, and walked alongside coaches and leaders in every kind of season.
I did not start coaching from a platform or a classroom. I started sweeping floors, filling water bottles, and learning from every veteran coach who would let me ask a question. That experience is what I bring to every coaching conversation — not theory, but earned perspective from someone who has been in the room you are standing in.
I am also the author of Beyond the Goalpost: Winning in Coaching, Leadership, and Life and the founder of Lessons from the Goalpost, a weekly leadership resource with over 2,100 subscribers.
