Just Beyond The Curve

I pass by this road every single day. I have to turn right before the gravel begins to get home from work. Many look down this peculiar road each day with great curiosity. Wondering what is down this untraveled road? What is just around the corner? However, I personally take the same turn everyday and just peak at this mysterious path. Isn’t this such a great analogy of what we often face on life’s journey. Instead of overextending ourselves, taking on a new project, pushing the edge of the envelope, striving for a promotion, or stepping out toward our life’s dream…. We just keep making that turn and heading down the road of comfort and convenience. You say to yourself that the road looks rocky, very uncertain, and the end is not visible. Just like when you see that opportunity, you think of that dream, but are always too busy, fear life change, worry about opinions, or possibly even afraid of the challenge.

“There are no traffic jams on the extra mile.” -Zig Ziglar

I love the saying there are “no traffic jams on the extra mile.” The emphasis of going beyond your comfort zone, overcoming fear, and stepping out in faith. I have learned over my career that your dream and burning desire is there for a reason. I have also learned that same vision is usually leading to your purpose. Yes, the road ahead may seem too rocky but the first step is all that is needed. Yes, your dream may not be in sight, but you are not even close to the curve. This process is called believing in yourself and being obedient to your calling… Traffic jams don’t exist on the extra mile because your dream is ultimately meant for you. The process may be difficult and scary but that comes with the road less traveled. There is no growth available in the comfort zone and the world needs your maximized impact. Be bold in the pursuit, keep growing in faith, and keep taking steps toward your purpose.

What you have dreamed of is just beyond where the gravel starts and the road curves… Believing in a dream is visualizing the unseen. Realizing your dream happens through daily steps, perseverance, and faith. You have been called from the farthest corners and have been given the strength you need. Do not be afraid of what is beyond the pavement. Always remember, “You were born to be special.”

“I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” –Isaiah 41: 9-10

  1. Great points in this lesson. Courage and confidence are developed when we apply faith in our daily walk through life. aroundthe curve , holds many experiences for us. I believe that, it’s not necessarily the experience that chisels out character in us , instead, it’s how we go through the experiences. Romans:5.
